Automated Giving Open Your Heart Without Opening Your Checkbook
To strengthen stewardship at Holy Family Parish, we request that you consider utilizing a new and easier way to support our parish……..Automated Giving or EFT (electronic funds transfer)
What is Automated Giving or EFT? An alternative means of support for Holy Family Parish instead of donations through envelopes or the weekly collection. Rather than writing a check or giving cash, this program collects monthly contributions that you authorize from your checking, savings, or credit card account. There is NO COST to participate in the program.
Why is Holy Family offering Automated Giving or EFT? There are two main reasons why we are encouraging our parishioners to participate in this program. The first is to enable our offertory collections and income throughout the year to become more consistent. Right now, our collections can vary dramatically from week to week and season to season, based on factors such as the weather, vacations, etc… This will help us greatly in our extended budgeting and planning process. The second main reason for instituting this program is to encourage parishioners to embrace a holistic approach to stewardship that is the fruit of prayer and planning. We feel that this is an excellent tool to help with that process.
What are the benefits to you? ü Allows you to plan your giving, in the same way you budget other financial considerations. ü You no longer have to be concerned about catching up on donations when you miss a Mass. ü You can easily adjust the amount of your automated contribution (up or down) at the office or by using a secure website address. ü You no longer need to write a check or bring cash every week. ü You will receive year end reports to use for tax purposes.
What about my weekly envelopes? Participation in the Automated Giving Program replaces the check or cash in your weekly envelopes. For those who are uncomfortable not having something to drop into the collection basket, there will be a space on your envelope (a check box marked EFT) to indicate that you participate in the Automated Giving Program. There will be no need to write the amount of your donation on the envelope. You will receive a separate tax document listing your Automated Giving totals. You should continue to use Special and Second collection envelopes as you do now or contribute a loose check or cash to these collections as you wish. This does not affect Second collections.
How will this be done? After careful consideration and research, we have chosen a company called ParishPay to assist us in this effort to provide our community with a new and better way to support our church. ParishPay serves parishes throughout the country including many within the Archdiocese of Boston. To learn more about ParishPay, visit their website at www.parishpay.com. We hope that your family will join us in this spiritual movement as you offer your time, talents, and treasure.
When will my donation be transferred? Contributions are collected only once per month not weekly. These transfer occur on the 5th of each month. This is done to minimize the expense of running the program. Transferring funds weely requires more work for ParishPay staff and more costs for Holy Family
